Your voice.
Your control.

Local-first is a practical choice: you decide where your recordings go and how they are processed.

Your local library

Audio, transcripts, summaries, project information, and export history are stored locally on your Mac. The app uses its sandbox container by default. You can choose another recordings folder in Settings → Storage. API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain.

On-device processing

The built-in Whisper transcription engine and built-in summary engine process your content on your Mac. Download the models first; the built-in workflow can then run offline. Model downloads use Hugging Face and require a network connection. The download service receives normal connection information, such as your IP address.

Optional remote services

If you choose a Remote Audio API, your audio is sent to the endpoint you configure. If you use Ollama or LM Studio at an address outside this Mac, transcript content is sent there for summaries. Settings asks for your agreement before saving an endpoint outside this Mac. Those services handle data under their own policies.

Permissions you control

Microphone permission is requested when you start a microphone recording. Capturing system audio requires macOS Screen Recording permission. Imports and custom folders use files or folders you choose. You can manage permissions in macOS System Settings.

Retention and deletion

Your library remains on your Mac until you remove it. Deleting an item in the app permanently removes its library audio, transcript, and summary. Original imported files and exports you saved separately are not deleted. Remove those separately if needed.
